The policy in full.
Our commitment
Harmony Warm Embrace Homecare does not exclude any person from participation in, deny any person the benefits of, or otherwise subject any person to discrimination in the provision of home care and support services on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, ancestry, age, sex, religion, handicap, or disability.
Where this applies
This policy governs who is accepted for service, how services are provided, how caregivers are assigned, how schedules and service requests are handled, and how caregivers and applicants for employment are treated.
- Acceptance of a request for home care and support.
- The care and support a client receives once services begin.
- Assignment of caregivers and handling of scheduling requests.
- Hiring, assignment, and treatment of caregivers and staff.
Legal compliance
Harmony Warm Embrace Homecare complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and with the nondiscrimination requirements that apply to home care agencies and home care registries in Pennsylvania.
Caregiver assignment and client preference
Caregivers are assigned on the basis of care needs, schedule, skills, and availability. A request to change a caregiver assignment for a reason based on a protected characteristic is not honored. Requests based on genuine care needs, such as language or the physical demands of a task, are handled as care-matching decisions.
Raising a concern
Anyone who believes they have been treated in a way this policy does not allow can raise it with Harmony Warm Embrace Homecare by phone at 267-416-0721 or by email at info@harmonywarmembrace.com. Concerns can also be raised with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, which licenses home care agencies and home care registries in this state, and which maintains a complaint hotline at 1-866-826-3644. Local Area Agency on Aging Ombudsman programs can also assist. Raising a concern does not affect the services a client receives.
